Man Arrested After Damaging Large U.S. Flag At Saginaw Restaurant – Spotted At Pro-Hamas Rally In Ann Arbor

A man accused of tearing down and damaging a massive American flag outside Old Town Junction in Saginaw has been arrested months after the incident after being spotted at a pro-Hamas rally in Ann Arbor.

Police say Christian Grant was taken into custody during the protest at the University of Michigan, where he was seen expressing anger over an event involving Israeli Defense Force soldiers.

The February 6th vandalism left the restaurant’s flag and a nearby pickup truck damaged. Staff and community members helped identify Grant, leading to a felony charge of malicious destruction of property.

He’s since been released on bond. Old Town Junction has replaced the flag with a new one at a cost of about $2,000, paid for in part by community donations.
