MAN WHO LEFT SEXUALLY EXPLICIT NOTE TO TEEN PLEADS NO CONTEST – WILL SEE PRISON TIME

**PRESS RELEASE BY OAKLAND COUNTY PROSECUTOR KAREN MCDONALD**

Thomas Mellick Hensler, a 38-year-year resident of Clarkston pleaded no contest to Accosting A Minor, Using Computer To Commit Crime, and Possession Of Methamphetamine.

In March, a 17-year-old female told police she was at the Auburn Hills Target when she found an explicit note on her car offering to pay her for sexual favors. Police texted the number on the note and located defendant parked near the store. Drugs and sex toys were reportedly found inside his vehicle.

The plea agreement means Hensler will serve prison time, as he is a habitual offender. He will be a lifetime registrant on the Sex Offender Registry as well.

“The teenaged victim was spending an afternoon shopping when her personal space and sense of safety were violated by Thomas Hensler’s criminal harassment,” said Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald. “This outcome holds Henlser accountable and protects the victim from the stress testifying in court.”

Hensler will be sentenced on November 5 in Sixth District Court.
