Clayton, Mo. – Three people described by police as being from the Metro Detroit area are facing charges after authorities say they carried out a coordinated theft scheme targeting high-end gaming systems at a Missouri Walmart.
According to the Manchester Police Department, the incident happened Feb. 24 at a Walmart on Highland Boulevard in Manchester, Missouri.

Investigators allege the group posed as fake “Spark” delivery shoppers to convince store employees they were picking up legitimate online orders. A loss prevention associate told police that one suspect would approach staff and request Nintendo Switch 2 and Meta Quest 3 gaming systems from a locked display case.
Because Spark delivery orders are not processed at standard registers, employees are required to walk merchandise to a self-checkout host. Police say that while one suspect engaged the self-checkout employee, another member of the trio pushed the cart containing the gaming systems through the checkout area and exited without paying.
Authorities estimate the stolen devices were worth approximately $4,990.

Police further allege the trio attempted to use the same method at a Walmart in Fenton, Missouri, but were unsuccessful. Officers later pulled the suspects over in Arnold, Missouri, where they were taken into custody.
Two of the suspects have been identified as Terrell T. Sykes and Jaymeka S. Norris, both described in court records as being born in 2004 and from the Metro Detroit area.
Jail records show Sykes was booked into the St. Louis County Justice Center on Feb. 24 at 6:04 p.m., while Norris was booked Feb. 25 at 3:25 p.m. Both remain incarcerated as of the latest jail listing.
The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has charged Sykes and Norris with stealing – $750 or more under Missouri law. Court records show both are scheduled for preliminary hearings on March 31 at 1:30 p.m.
A third suspect was also arrested in connection with the case. However, charging information and booking details for that individual were not available at the time of publication.
Norris and Sykes are both presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
