Michigan Deli Publicly Bans ICE Agents After Profanity-Laced Facebook Post Goes Viral

A Muskegon, Michigan sandwich shop has sparked national backlash after publicly announcing it would refuse service to federal immigration agents and would call police if they entered the business.

Fatty Lumpkins Sandwich Shack, located at 971 Washington Ave., posted a profanity-laced message on its official Facebook page stating that Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents are not welcome inside the establishment under any circumstances.

In the post, the business claimed ICE agents had previously visited the restaurant during a prior presidential administration, alleging agents entered wearing tactical gear and firearms. The post went on to declare that any future presence by ICE would result in immediate denial of service, public removal, and a 911 call.

“Do not EVER set foot in this establishment without a warrant,” the post stated. “You will be denied service… We will immediately call 911 the second I see anything resembling your presence on our private property.”

The message repeatedly used profanity, accused ICE of “murderous ways” and “blatant fascism,” and concluded by stating immigration agents would “never” be welcome at the business.

The post has since gone viral, generating more than 5,000 reactions, thousands of comments, and over 1,000 shares, with commenters sharply divided. Supporters praised the business for taking a political stand, while critics accused the owners of discrimination, hostility toward law enforcement, and potentially misunderstanding the legal authority of federal agents.

Legal experts note that while private businesses can generally refuse service, federal law enforcement officers operating under lawful authority are not required to obtain a warrant simply to enter a business open to the public. Calling local police on federal agents performing official duties could also raise jurisdictional questions.

As of publication, the business has not issued a clarification, retraction, or apology, and the post remains visible on its Facebook page.
