Michigan State Police Arrest Alleged Animal Abuser Who Then Damaged Patrol Car

The Michigan State Police responded to a call in Macomb County Sunday morning on reports of a man dragging a dog near Van Dyke in Bruce Township close to the Springbrook Estates.

When Troopers arrived they located the 31-year-old male from Bruce Township and the dog on a nearby street at which time the Troopers attempted to take the suspect into custody.

The suspect became combative but was arrested and handcuffed without injury. While in custody he allegedly damaged a Macomb County Sheriffs Office patrol vehicle before being taken to the Macomb County Jail where he was jailed pending Prosecutor review of charges.

The dog was taken to a local vet per the attached post and is expected to be ok.
