A 15-year-old Michigan teen is facing serious charges after Kalamazoo officers say he ran from them while carrying a gun with an extended magazine.
According to Kalamazoo Public Safety, the teen was spotted Wednesday afternoon on Inverness Lane near Gull Road. Officers with the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team and Crime Reduction Team noticed the teen acting suspiciously and trying to hide the weapon.
When approached, he bolted, tossing the gun while running. Officers quickly caught him and recovered the firearm.
The 15-year-old is now lodged at the Kalamazoo County Juvenile Home. He’s facing charges of carrying a concealed weapon, resisting and obstructing police, and felony firearm.
