Overview
A Midland man is back in prison after allegedly violating his parole by possessing child pornography.
Larry Eugene Edwards, 38, was charged with five felony counts of possessing child sexually abusive material, including one count of aggravated possession. He was arraigned on October 22 in Midland County Circuit Court before Judge Michael Beale, with bond set at $250,000.
Edwards is currently lodged at the Central Michigan Correctional Facility in St. Louis, Michigan. Court records indicate that investigators discovered the material while Edwards was still on parole.
Prior Convictions
Edwards has a lengthy criminal record.
He was sentenced on February 6, 2020, by Judge Stephen Carras to 20 months to 10 years in prison for third-offense domestic violence and/or assaulting a pregnant woman.
He also pleaded guilty the same day to felony fleeing and eluding police.
After serving part of his sentence, Edwards was paroled on October 26, 2023, but remained under supervision.
New Allegations
According to Midland Police Department Public Relations Officer Brennon Warren, police were notified on March 24, 2025, that Edwards may have had child pornography on his phone.
When Edwards met with his parole officer, a cursory search of his phone revealed several explicit images of minors believed to be between 13 and 15 years old.
Investigators obtained a warrant to search both of Edwards’ phones. The discovery was limited to one device, and he was arrested on October 22. After his arraignment, his parole was revoked and he was sent back to prison.

These tattoos include KKK symbols, swastikas, and racial slurs, in addition to drug-related and violent imagery.
Status
Edwards remains in state custody pending trial on the new felony charges. If convicted, he faces a potential decades-long prison term under Michigan’s child sexually abusive material statutes.
