Monroe Mom Busted Shoplifting at CVS While Meth, Syringes and Her Child Waited in the Car

Monroe, MI — A 41-year-old Monroe woman was arrested Tuesday morning after police say she was caught stealing hundreds of dollars in merchandise from a CVS Pharmacy while carrying methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, with her juvenile daughter waiting in a car outside.

According to Monroe Police, officers responded around 11:00AM on February 3, 2026 to a report of retail fraud at the CVS Pharmacy located at 919 S. Monroe Street. Store employees provided a description of a woman actively stealing inside the store and also reported that another person was waiting in a vehicle outside.

Officers located the suspect inside the store and discovered she was in possession of more than $500 worth of stolen CVS merchandise, along with a syringe and methamphetamine, police said.

When officers checked the vehicle waiting outside, they found the woman’s juvenile daughter inside. Police also discovered additional methamphetamine, a meth pipe, and multiple bags of suspected stolen merchandise believed to be taken from other retail stores.

The child was safely released to family members. The woman was taken into custody and booked on charges including retail fraud and possession of methamphetamine.

The case is now being reviewed by the Monroe County Prosecutor’s Office to determine formal charges. Anyone with information related to the incident is asked to contact Monroe Police at (734) 243-7500.

This remains an active and ongoing investigation.
