Monroe, MI – On October 14, 2025, the Monroe Police Department investigated a reported school threat after a message referencing a potential shooting was shared on social media.
School Resource Officers, Detectives, and Road Patrol Officers responded immediately and worked closely with Monroe Public Schools officials. The investigation determined the image and message were connected to a different school district and not directed at Monroe Public Schools.
No individuals were targeted, and no one was harmed. The situation was quickly deemed not credible following a full assessment by law enforcement.
Police thanked the parents and community members who reported the post, emphasizing that student safety remains the department’s top priority. Monroe Police continue to work in partnership with Monroe Public Schools to address threats swiftly and maintain a secure learning environment for all students and staff.
