Mount Clemens, MI – A 33-year-old Mount Clemens man is facing multiple felony charges after Macomb County Sheriff’s Office deputies say he assaulted a woman during a custody exchange, threatened her with a gun, and later fired multiple shots near downtown Mount Clemens.

According to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched around 8:00 p.m. on March 7, 2026, to the 100 block of Broadway Avenue for a reported domestic dispute. Investigators say Daronta Williamson left the scene before deputies arrived.
Authorities said a 26-year-old woman reported that a verbal altercation broke out during a custody exchange and escalated into a physical assault. Deputies said Williamson allegedly pulled out a firearm and threatened to shoot the victim before leaving the area without completing the exchange.
Sheriff’s officials said Williamson later dropped the child off at a family member’s home. The victim was then reunited with the child without further incident, and the child was not hurt.
About 52 minutes later, around 8:52 p.m., deputies were told Williamson was near the 100 block of Michigan Avenue. Investigators allege he fired a weapon multiple times at two separate victims and also fired shots into the air. A good Samaritan helped deputies identify the vehicle Williamson was allegedly driving, which matched the description from the earlier custody exchange incident.
Deputies later located Williamson after he parked at Station 68, where he was taken into custody without incident. Authorities said a firearm, magazine, and ammunition were recovered from the vehicle.
Williamson was arraigned in 41B District Court in Clinton Township on 2 counts of assault with intent to murder, 1 count of discharging a firearm in or at a building, 1 count of felonious assault, 4 counts of felony-firearm, and 1 count of domestic violence.
Charges Filed:
• 2 counts – Assault With Intent to Murder (life felony)
• 1 count – Discharge of a Firearm In or At a Building (10-year felony)
• 1 count – Assault With a Dangerous Weapon (Felonious Assault – 4-year felony)
• 4 counts – Felony Firearm (2-year felony, served consecutively)
• 1 count – Domestic Violence
His bond was set at $100,000 cash/surety, 10 percent. If released, he must wear a GPS tether and have no contact with the victims. Williamson remains lodged in the Macomb County Jail.
Williamson is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
