MSP Trooper 2 Helps Capture Two Suspects After Detroit Foot Chase, Gun Recovered

Detroit, MI → Michigan State Police released video and radio traffic showing how Trooper 2 helped officers track down and arrest two suspects who tried to run from police in Detroit on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, leading to a weapon being recovered and both men taken into custody.

According to MSP, the incident unfolded near the northeast corner of Minnock and Chicago, where officers began searching for suspects who had fled on foot. Radio communications captured during the pursuit detail the fast-moving effort to lock down the area and track both individuals as they attempted to escape.

At one point in the transmission, officers reported a suspect appearing to reach toward a vehicle, raising concerns about a possible weapon. Moments later, troopers confirmed a gun had been recovered at the scene.

The audio indicates officers were given descriptions and locations in real time as they worked to box in the suspects. One individual was described as a Black male wearing Nike gear and running without shoes as he moved through the area.

Trooper 2 then began coordinating with ground units while responding to the area. As officers closed in, radio traffic directed units toward an alley behind a garage where the second suspect was believed to be hiding.

Within minutes, officers located the individual on the ground near a back fence that runs along the alley. Units were guided around the structure and told the suspect could be lying down just to the left as they approached.

Shortly after, officers confirmed over the radio that contact had been made and the second suspect was being taken into custody.

Michigan State Police later summed up the incident in a social media post accompanying the video, stating it showed “a couple of suspects trying to run from officers in Detroit,” adding that the outcome was “the same results as usual — suspects in jail, gun recovered and our neighborhoods are safer.”

Authorities have not released the names of the suspects or the charges they may face, but the coordinated response captured on the Trooper 2 footage shows how quickly the situation unfolded — from the initial foot chase to both arrests and the recovery of a firearm.
