Oakland County Fugitive Wanted on CSC Charge and Multiple Bench Warrants Arrested in South Carolina

A Michigan man with multiple outstanding warrants, including a felony warrant in an Oakland County criminal sexual conduct case, has been arrested in South Carolina after a multi-state search by federal and local authorities.

According to the U.S. Marshals Service and regional investigators, 35-year-old Kyle Alband fled Michigan while facing a third-degree criminal sexual conduct (force or coercion) charge and a felon-in-possession firearm charge. Court records show that after being arraigned in February 2025, Alband was bound over to Circuit Court, where a bond was set at $80,000 cash/surety/10%.

He later missed a scheduled court appearance, triggering a series of actions in September 2025 including:

  • A motion to revoke bond,
  • The revocation of his bond,
  • Bond forfeiture, and
  • A warrant being issued on September 10, 2025 for failure to appear in the CSC case.

In addition to the felony matters, records show additional failure-to-appear issues and warrant activity in May and June 2025 tied to separate misdemeanor traffic and registration violations. Multiple entries were filed for “Motion, Affidavit & Bench Warrant Generated” related to expired plate/impeded traffic citations, followed by another warrant being entered into the LEIN system in mid-May and a 14-day notice issued in June.

Federal authorities were notified after Alband fled Michigan and began crossing state lines. Investigators with the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia said they received information suggesting Alband had been staying in Toccoa, Georgia before moving again. A coordinated investigation between the U.S. Marshals Service, Stephens County Sheriff’s Office, GBI ARDEO Task Force, and the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office led officers to an address in Walhalla, South Carolina at around 12:30pm on Thursday, November 20.

Alband was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Oconee County Detention Center, where he remains pending extradition back to Michigan to face the outstanding felony and misdemeanor matters.
