On Monday, November 24, 2025, at approximately 9:30 AM, West Bloomfield Police received a 911 call from a woman on Coach Lane reporting that her husband was experiencing a mental health crisis, wearing a ballistic vest, and had fired a gun into a neighboring home. Officers arrived within minutes and encountered the man in the front yard, still armed and behaving erratically.
According to investigators, officers deployed a Taser after the man resisted commands and continued to struggle with police. He was taken into custody and his firearm was recovered at the scene, preventing what authorities say could have escalated into a lethal confrontation.
Detectives determined the suspect had walked across the street to a neighbor’s residence prior to police arrival, shattered a window, and fired multiple handgun rounds into the home. Four people were inside at the time. Despite the gunfire, no one was struck or physically injured — a narrow margin that likely kept this incident from turning into a homicide case.
Following the initial investigation, West Bloomfield detectives submitted the case to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office. Two days later, on November 26th, prosecutors filed a nine-count felony complaint and issued an arrest warrant for Marquis Greg-Lamar Fletcher, 50, of West Bloomfield.
