Realtor Charged With Embezzling Nearly $50K From Kingsbury Country Day In Oxford – And This Isn’t The First Time She’s Done It

A local real estate agent is facing serious legal trouble after being charged with embezzling nearly $50,000 from Kingsbury Country Day School, a respected private institution in Oxford.

According to authorities, Lauren Direzze was entrusted with financial responsibilities at the Kingsbury Parent Association, and is alleged to have misappropriated funds over an extended period. Investigators say the theft was uncovered during a routine audit, which revealed multiple irregularities in the school’s financial records.

According to the complaint, the embezzled funds were diverted for personal use between August 8, 2022 and March 31, 2024, though the exact nature of the expenditures has not yet been disclosed. MDCR has been able to independently verify the dollar amount to be that of just under $47,000.

We’ve also learned this is not the first time Direzze has faced embezzlement charges. She was previously in charge of finances at her HOA where some $37,000 was embezzled. In that case, Direzze repaid the money and charges were dropped.

Lauren Direzze has been arraigned and faces felony charges including embezzlement of $20,000 or more but less than $50,000—a crime punishable by up to 10 years in prison and significant fines.
