Shelby Township police responded to a report of gunfire early Friday morning after a resident’s home was struck multiple times at the Dequindre Estate Mobile Home Park along Dequindre Road near Hamlin.
According to Shelby Township Police Department, the incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. on December 26, 2025. A resident called 911 reporting that shots had been fired from the street in front of the residence. Officers arrived and confirmed the home had been hit by gunfire, though the suspect or suspects had fled before police arrived.
Investigators later developed suspect and vehicle information tied to the shooting. Detectives located the involved vehicle unoccupied in a parking lot in Saint Clair Shores.
Police say the suspect returned to the vehicle later Friday afternoon and was taken into custody without incident. Authorities emphasized that the arrest eliminates any ongoing threat to the public. Additional details are expected to be released as the investigation continues.
