ST. CLAIR SHORES MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO DOUBLE VOTING

A 68-year-old man from St. Clair Shores has admitted to casting two ballots in the same election. Frank Prezzato entered a guilty plea on Tuesday to one count of voting both absentee and in-person during the August 2024 primary election. Both ballots were counted.

Attorney General Dana Nessel said the act “undermines our democratic process” and vowed her office will continue prosecuting election violations to protect the integrity of Michigan’s elections.

Under a plea agreement, Prezzato will serve six months of delayed probation. If he successfully completes the term, the charges will be dismissed with prejudice. His formal sentencing is set for October 22, 2025 before Judge Anthony Servitto in Macomb County Circuit Court.

Prezzato was one of four St. Clair Shores residents charged last year with double voting. That case also involved two assistant clerks accused of falsifying election records, though those charges were later thrown out by a judge. Other defendants remain under prosecution.

Michigan election officials continue to warn that even one illegal vote threatens confidence in the system, and that offenders will be held accountable.
