A sudden snowfall is moving through the Metro Detroit area this morning, creating rapidly changing road conditions.
Radar as of 10:15 a.m. shows the snow band gaining strength west of Ann Arbor and pushing east through the region. The system is expected to move out of the area around Moon, but not before leaving behind slick and potentially hazardous travel conditions.
Drivers should slow down, increase following distance, and watch for slick spots on bridges, overpasses, and untreated roads, especially as temperatures hover near freezing. Visibility may also drop quickly during heavier bursts of snow.
