Suspected Delivery Driver Arrested in String of Home Invasions Across Multiple Townships

UPDATE 12/11/2025:

St. Clair County Sheriff’s Detectives are still actively investigating the recent home invasions. We believe that there may be more victims spanning multiple counties. Although many people have packages delivered each day, please consider taking time to review camera footage from November 20, 2025 through December 6 for suspicious activity from delivery drivers. This could include:

• Drivers coming onto a property but not delivering a package.

• Drivers ringing doorbells to see if a resident is home.

• Drivers going to a back or side door that is not where a package is typically placed.

Going forward, if you do notice these particular behaviors, please contact your local law enforcement. It is always beneficial to obtain a license plate or identifying features but please do not put yourself in harm’s way or confront any individuals.

If you do find that you are a victim or have video footage of a delivery driver acting suspiciously, please contact Detective O’Donnell at (810) 987-1731 or todonnell@stclaircounty.org

ORIGINAL 12/10/2025: A 32-year-old Redford man is accused of breaking into homes while posing as a delivery driver over the past two weeks in St. Clair County.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, investigators believe Deonte King is connected to at least seven home invasions that occurred between November 28 and December 3 in multiple townships. Deputies were alerted again on December 6 after a homeowner on Werner Road returned to find their residence ransacked and several unique valuables stolen.

A regional alert was issued and deputies located a white box truck matching the suspect vehicle not far from the latest scene. King was taken into custody without incident. Detectives say they recovered stolen items inside the truck, many of which have since been matched to prior victims.

King was arraigned December 9 in 72nd District Court. His bond was set at $200,000 cash/surety.

He faces the following felony charges:

• Home Invasion – 1st Degree (1 count)
• Home Invasion – 2nd Degree (5 counts)

Sheriff Mat King urged residents to stay vigilant — especially during the busy holiday delivery season.

“Thank you to the road patrol deputies for detailing each incident, allowing for a thorough description of the suspect and vehicle to be compiled, allowing the detectives to connect the cases. With the help of local and federal agencies in the area, we were able to locate King and prevent further incidents.”

Residents are reminded to keep doors and windows locked, track expected deliveries, and report suspicious activity immediately by calling 911.
