When Ram boss Tim Kuniskis was asked whether fuel economy rollbacks under the Trump administration paved the way for the TRX’s return, his response was blunt: “I was gonna do it anyway.”
That one sentence sums up the entire philosophy behind the 2027 Ram 1500 SRT Hellcat TRX.
This truck was never about compliance charts or efficiency benchmarks. It exists because loud, supercharged, off-road monsters still matter — and because Ram refuses to let the Ford F-150 Raptor R dominate the segment uncontested.

Now officially part of Stellantis’ SRT performance division, the resurrected TRX returns as the most powerful street-legal gas half-ton pickup truck ever built.
777 Horsepower, No Apologies
Power comes from a newly engineered 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8 producing 777 horsepower and 680 lb-ft of torque, up from the previous TRX’s 702 hp and 650 lb-ft.
This is not a simple retune. Engineers reduced intake restriction by 18%, optimized airflow throughout the induction system, and fitted a higher-revving valvetrain derived from higher-output Hellcat variants. The result is brutal:
- 0–60 mph: 3.5 seconds
- Top speed: 118 mph (tire-limited)
- Power advantage: +57 hp over the Raptor R
It’s quicker, stronger, and unapologetically excessive.
Built to Fly, Not Just Flex
The TRX isn’t chasing drag-strip glory. Its mission remains extreme off-road dominance.
Next-generation Bilstein BlackHawk e2 adaptive shocks deliver 13 inches of front travel and 14 inches of rear travel, paired with 35-inch tires on 18-inch wheels and 11.8 inches of ground clearance.
Hydraulic jounce bumpers, electronically locking differentials, and axle-hop dampers return with refinements aimed at reducing float and better controlling hard landings. Yes — dune jumping is still very much part of the program.
Power Meets Modern Tech

Power is routed through the highest-torque-rated version of the ZF 8HP95 eight-speed automatic, now fully integrated with Ram’s Atlantis electrical architecture.
Inside, the TRX finally matches its performance with cutting-edge tech:
- 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster
- 14.5-inch central touchscreen
- 10-inch head-up display
- Hands-free Active Drive Assist highway cruising
Ford still doesn’t offer that.
Excess, On Purpose
Despite being a mechanical protest against boring vehicles, the TRX remains surprisingly livable. Heated and ventilated seats are standard for all passengers, with massaging seats for the driver and front passenger. Carbon-fiber trim fills the cabin, backed by a Harman Kardon premium sound system.
Buyers wanting maximum attitude can opt for the Bloodshot Night Edition, featuring a red-and-black two-tone exterior, aggressive TRX badging, red interior accents, and stitched suede throughout the cabin. Subtlety was never the point.
Price and Availability
The 2027 Ram SRT Hellcat TRX goes on sale in summer 2026, with pricing starting at $102,590, including a $2,595 destination charge.
That undercuts the Raptor R by nearly $11,000 — while delivering more power and more tech.
Ram doesn’t expect to struggle moving inventory. This truck wasn’t brought back because it made sense on paper. It was resurrected because people still want something loud, mechanical, and unapologetically over the top.
