The Troy Police Department has arrested 38-year-old Joseph Louis Carter in connection with an armed robbery that happened early Thursday morning, October 30, 2025, at the Shell Gas Station on Rochester Road.
Police say the arrest was the result of strong teamwork across several units including patrol officers, detectives, evidence technicians, the Tactical Support Team, Directed Patrol Unit, and Special Investigations Unit. Carter was taken into custody without incident.
Investigators credited the help of the ATF, Detroit Police, Ann Arbor Police, and U.S. Attorneys’ Offices, along with tips from the public, for helping move the case forward.
Carter has been charged with Armed Robbery, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and two counts of Felony Firearm 2nd Offense. He was arraigned in 52-4 District Court and denied bond.
