Sterling Heights police are investigating a violent overnight shooting that erupted during a house party along 14 Mile Road, leaving five adults wounded. Officers with Sterling Heights Police were called to the home just after 1:30 a.m. Saturday following reports of gunfire and multiple victims at the scene.
Investigators say an argument broke out between two individuals at the party and escalated into a shootout after both suspects pulled handguns and opened fire on each other. In the chaos, three innocent bystanders were also struck by gunfire. Four victims were found at the home with gunshot wounds, while a fifth drove herself to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police said one victim suffered severe bleeding to the leg and required a tourniquet at the scene. Both suspected shooters are currently in custody at a hospital, and all victims are listed in stable condition. The motive for the altercation remains unclear. Anyone with information is urged to contact police as the investigation continues.
