Two men from Detroit were arrested as part of a major drug bust that originated in Pennsylvania, with one of the men being described as being a “member of an international drug-trafficking organization with vast resources at its disposal…”

Detroit residents Terrence Spivey, 29, and Raymone Grier Jr, 24 were both arrested by federal agents for their involvement in trafficking methamphetamine, heroin, fentanyl, para-fluorofentanyl and other narcotics.

The men were indicted with 8 others and are alleged to have conspired to possess with intent to distribute and distributed 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, 500 grams or more of a mixture and substance containing methamphetamine, 100 grams or more of para-fluorofentanyl, 100 grams or more of heroin, 10 grams or more of carfentanil, 40 grams or more of fentanyl, and a quantity of cocaine from November 2023 to March 2025.

Raymone Grier Jr was arrested in Pennsylvania and has been called “a member of an international drug-trafficking organization with vast resources at its disposal…”

They described Grier as “a mid-level distributor for a well-organized, logistically sophisticated drug-trafficking organization that surreptitiously moved large amounts of narcotics across state lines” through the postal service and UPS.

Terrence Spivey was arrested in Detroit on Thursday, July 31st. Court papers filed by federal prosecutors say they intercepted phone calls from Grier Jr to others involved in the ring.

“These intercepted communications provide, in the defendant’s and co-conspirators’ own words, a day-by-day guide to their significant drug-trafficking activities, including intercepted communications concerning the transportation of large amounts of narcotics,” prosecutors wrote.

The law provides for a maximum total sentence of not less than 10 years and up to life in prison, a fine of up to $20 million, or both.

The multi-agency investigation was led by the Drug Enforcement Administration and included the United States Postal Inspection Service, Homeland Security Investigations, Internal Revenue Service, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield Regional Police Department, Altoona Police Department, and Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General.
