Warren Man Alleged To Have Killed His Roommate Bound Over To Trial

Mount Clemens, MI — A 20-year-old Warren man accused in the shooting death of his housemate has been bound over to circuit court to stand trial on a charge of Second-Degree Murder.

Peter J. Lucido announced that Kayvon Briscoe Hall was ordered to stand trial following a two-day preliminary examination in 37th District Court.

The hearing concluded on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, before Suzanne Faunce, who found sufficient evidence to bind Briscoe Hall over on all charges. The case was prosecuted at the preliminary stage by Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Elizabeth Abbo.

Briscoe Hall is scheduled to be arraigned in Macomb County Circuit Court before Kathryn A. Viviano on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.

Charges Filed

Briscoe Hall is facing the following charges:

  • Second-Degree Murder, a felony punishable by life in prison or any term of years
  • Felony Firearm, a 2-year felony that must be served consecutively to the primary charge

He remains lodged at the Macomb County Jail without bond.

Lucido said the Prosecutor’s Office will continue to take a firm stance against violent crime.

“Violence is never the answer and will never be tolerated in Macomb County. The Prosecutor’s Office remains committed to holding offenders accountable, protecting the safety of our communities, and pursuing justice for victims in a fair, ethical, and transparent manner.”

Alleged Shooting

According to authorities, the case stems from an incident on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025, when officers with the Warren Police Department were dispatched to a home following a report of a shooting.

Police said they found 63-year-old Roger Willie lying unresponsive on the floor, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers rendered life-saving aid until Warren firefighters arrived. Willie was transported to Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

All that are accused of a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
