Warren Man Charged With 10 Felonies in Shooting and Fleeing Case

A Warren man is facing 10 felony charges, including two counts of assault with intent to murder, after prosecutors say he opened fire on family members and then led police on a high-speed chase topping 120 miles per hour before crashing his vehicle and attempting to hide from officers.

Antoine Paige Jr.

Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that Antoine Paige Jr., 25, was arraigned on the charges following the incident, which unfolded on December 14, 2025.

According to prosecutors, Paige allegedly fired multiple shots from a handgun at his cousin and her boyfriend during a confrontation, striking his cousin in the shoulder. Police later made contact with Paige while he was inside a vehicle, but authorities say he ignored lawful commands and fled the scene.

Eastpointe Police Department and St. Clair Shores Police Department pursued Paige eastbound on Interstate 94, where prosecutors say the chase reached speeds exceeding 120 miles per hour. The pursuit ended when Paige’s vehicle was found crashed on North River Road.

Officers from the Eastpointe Police Department, St. Clair Shores Police Department, Warren Police Department, and the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office conducted a coordinated search of the area. Prosecutors say Paige was ultimately found hiding in the water of a canal beneath a dock and taken into custody.

On Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2025, Paige was arraigned before Mark J. Makowski at the 38th District Court in Eastpointe.

Paige is charged with two counts of Assault with Intent to Murder, along with multiple firearm-related offenses, three counts of felony firearm carrying mandatory consecutive prison time, third-degree fleeing and eluding, and resisting and obstructing a police officer. Prosecutors have also filed a Habitual Offender – Fourth Offense Notice, an aggravating factor that may result in a life sentence if Paige is convicted.

Magistrate Makowski set Paige’s bond at $1 million cash or surety. If released, he must wear a steel-cuff tether. A probable cause conference is scheduled for Dec. 30, 2025, followed by a preliminary examination on Jan. 6, 2026, both at 8 a.m. before Kathleen G. Galen.

“The allegations in this matter are extremely serious,” Lucido said. “It is only by sheer luck that the two individuals who were allegedly shot at were not seriously injured or killed. Fleeing from law enforcement will not be tolerated in Macomb County.”

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
