West Bloomfield Man Charged With Multiple First- and Second-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct Counts Involving Child Victim

West Bloomfield Township, MI → A 58-year-old West Bloomfield man is facing multiple felony charges after police say an investigation uncovered repeated sexual abuse involving a young child over a period of years.

Michael Alan (Allen) Bank

According to a February 10, 2026 press release from the West Bloomfield Township Police Department, the case began on January 8 when a detective from the Northfield Police Department contacted West Bloomfield authorities about a criminal sexual conduct investigation involving a child victim with ties to the township.

Detectives launched a thorough investigation and determined the child’s mother had hired the suspect, identified as Michael Alan (Allen) Bank, as a nanny through Sittercity.com. Authorities allege that over the years, Bank repeatedly engaged in criminal sexual conduct with the child.

As part of the investigation, detectives executed a search warrant on January 15 at a home in the 6800 block of Aeroview Street in West Bloomfield. Bank, who lived at the home, was present and taken into custody. Investigators seized multiple electronic devices from the residence for forensic analysis.

After reviewing the evidence, the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office authorized the following charges:

• Count 1 – Criminal Sexual Conduct, First Degree (Person under thirteen, defendant 17 years of age or older)
• Count 2 – Criminal Sexual Conduct, First Degree (Person under thirteen, defendant 17 years of age or older)
• Count 3 – Criminal Sexual Conduct, First Degree (Person under thirteen, defendant 17 years of age or older)
• Count 4 – Criminal Sexual Conduct, Second Degree (Person under thirteen, defendant 17 years of age or older)

Bank was arraigned on January 18, 2026. The court denied bond, and he was lodged in the Oakland County Jail, where he remains.

Police say the investigation is ongoing. Detectives examining the seized electronic devices report they have discovered a large amount of evidence involving children, including material that appears to show Bank with multiple victims in compromised situations.

Authorities believe there may be additional victims and are asking the public to come forward. Anyone with information or who believes a child may have had contact with Bank is urged to contact Detective Cherry at 248-975-8981.

Individuals described as suspects, being wanted, or having been arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
