WOMAN ADMITS TO SHOOTING HER FATHER TWICE – FACES 10-YEARS IN PRISON

**PRESS RELEASE BY THE MACOMB COUNTY PROSECUTOR**

Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced the guilty plea of a 21-year-old woman who shot her father, twice. His injuries were not fatal.

On Tuesday, August 19, 2025, Cheyenne Randolph pled guilty before Macomb County Circuit Judge James M. Maceroni to the following charges:

ยท Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm, a 10-year felony

ยท Felony Firearm, a 2-year felony

Randolph will be sentenced on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at 9:00 am before Judge Maceroni in the Macomb County Circuit Court, Mount Clemens, MI.

On February 23, 2024, Randolph, who was 20-years old at the time, got into an argument with her father. As the situation became more heated, Randolph produced a gun and shot at him four times. He was stuck twice, neither of which were life threatening.

โ€œThis case is a stark reminder that you cannot reach for a weapon when words will do. The defendant chose violence against her own father, and while he survived, the outcome could have been far worse. Guns are not an answer to conflict, and anyone who uses them to settle personal disputes will be held fully accountable. Our office is committed to protecting families and ensuring the safety of this community,โ€ Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido said.

The Macomb County Prosecutorโ€™s Office represents the people of Macomb County. We are committed to achieving justice and following the laws of the State of Michigan. All defendants accused of a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
