A staple among drinkers has finally made its way to Michigan taprooms and bars as Yuengling, America’s oldest operating brewery, is now available in select area markets beginning today, August 11th. That’s right, no more out of state trips to snag your favorite beer that’s been around for 196 years.
The rollout is initially limited to tap only which means it’ll only be available in bars in select metro-areas. If you’re in the Detroit, Ann Arbor or Lansing region you’re in luck because they are part of the initial rollout of availability.
Three distributors are handling the rollout at first with O & W Inc based in Ypsilanti serving as one distributor while Eastown Distributors located in northeast Wayne County is another. The third distributor hasn’t been named but services the Ann Arbor, Detroit and East Lansing metro areas.
Three featured beers will be available at launch. Yuengling Lager which is a classic amber lager, Black & Tan which bills itself as a smooter, darker blend and finally Yuengling Flight which is a light, low-calorie option.
While tap availability has launched today in the markets mentioned, greater availability is promised to come in September as cans and bottles will begin showing up in store shelves starting in September.
Officials from Yuengling tell us you can use their Beer Finder web-page to track availability:
